Whether you are planning a wedding or a corporate function, a drinks reception is vital when it comes to making a lasting first impression.
A well planned arrival drink will put your guests at ease and allows your event to flow seamlessly from one section to the next.
A drinks reception doesn't have to be predictable either! You may want to look at providing your guests with a seasonal option, such as Pimms or Mulled Wine, or a bespoke cocktail.
Your events manager will be able to guide you though the process and help ensure you get the arrival drink element right.
Some things to consider:
Duration - have you left enough time to avoid feeling rushed?
Traditional fizz or something more adventurous? - speak to your event manager for advice on suitable options.
Soft alternative - we recommend something light and sparkling such as Elderflower Presse and mint garnish.
Will you allow for top ups? - let your event manager know if you wish the floor staff to top up glasses.
Glassware - Champagne flutes or saucers? Highballs or Collins? Your event manager can source and supply the appropriate glassware in keeping with themes and budgets.
We were given the brief to design and serve a classic drinks reception at a 60th birthday. After a client consultation, we suggested Negronis, Vodka Martinis and Champagne. A super sophisticated and stylish way to welcome guests before dinner!
